The Dutchman René Henket was born on 23 May 1968. He comes from a musical family and began playing the trumpet at the age of 8. His first trumpet teacher was Pierre Wilhelmus.
In 1987 he began to study trumpet, school music and wind orchestra conducting at the Maastricht Conservatory and completed his trumpet studies in 1993 with Guido Seegers. In 1994 he also successfully completed his school music studies and then studied wind band conducting with Jo Conjaerts from 1995.
After completing his studies at the conservatory in Maastricht, René then continued his studies at the Musikhochschule Köln with Heinz Meures, where he passed both his instrumental pedagogy studies and his artistic maturity examination.
Since 1988 he has been the trumpet player in André Rieu's Johann Strauss Orchestra, which has since achieved world fame with his orchestra. René has therefore played in all the great concert halls of the world.
In addition to his work as a trumpet player in the Johann Strauss Orchestra, he uses his many years of experience as a trumpet teacher to help brass players with mouthpiece problems. He has developed a system which, with the help of the most modern measuring techniques, makes it possible to obtain an exact analysis of the playing problems.
Over the years and through his worldwide travels, René has acquired a great deal of knowledge about the trumpet, mouthpieces and teaching methods and has a very impressive collection on these subjects.
René has been a great Vincent Bach Ambassador for many years and has confidence in the great musical qualities of the Stradivarius trumpets.
